FieldHouse Etiquette

Every Rec Center has its rules and the FieldHouse is no exception. The unspoken, common-sense rules of the Field House are politely enforced by our student staff. All participants and users of the fieldhouse are required to follow these policies and etiquette, which include:

  • Anyone under 12 must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 18.
  • Report malfunctions, spills, broken equipment, etc. to the staff
  • Restrict the use of foul language - either written or spoken
  • Wear proper gym attire (non-scuffing athletic shoes, no denim)
  • No Food or Beverage (except water) inside pool or fieldhouse areas
  • Failure to do so could result in a possible loss of facility privileges. Any questions or comments should be directed to the supervisor on duty at the front desk.
  • Facilities will close 30 min before open rec hours close if no patrons are using the facilities

Policies and procedures during Covid at the MHS Field House

Closures

  • All locker rooms and changing stalls will be closed. (Locker room bathrooms will be available)
  • Enter through the front entrance. Please follow our marked signs for entrance & exit information.
  • Our seating area, and break room areas are closed.
  • Bubblers are closed.
  • No goggles are available for public or staff use.
  • Limited equipment will be available.
  • Starting blocks and the diving board are closed.

Physical Distancing Requirements

For purposes of this order, physical distancing requirements include:

  • Maintain physical distancing of six (6) feet between people
  • Washing hands with soap and water or using hand sanitizer
  • Covering coughs or sneezes (into sleeve or elbow, not hands)
  • Regularly cleaning high-touch surfaces.
  • Not shaking hands, and wearing masks as necessary.
  • Following all other public health requirements issued by DCHD.

To ensure the safety of all staff and patrons, we are requiring that all employees and patrons will follow the minimum guidelines when preparing to be on-site and when in the buildings:

Preparation

  • All programs will require online reservation using our Max Galaxy registration portal.
  • Prior to leaving home, review the CDC COVID 19 Symptoms checklist.  If you are NOT experiencing any COVID 19 symptoms you are welcome to attend our facility.
  • If you ARE experiencing COVID 19 symptoms such as Cough, Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, Chills, Fever above 100.4, Muscle pain, Sore throat, New loss of taste or smell, or Trouble breathing please stay home and contact your physician immediately for the next steps for testing.

 

Arrival: When arriving at the FieldHouse follow signs indicating which door you will enter and exit through. Prior to entering, please check-in with our attendant for directions, review the district use guidelines, use the sanitizer station prior to entrance. 

 

Spectator areas: One (1) immediate family spectator is allowed on deck in our social distancing spectators area for swimmers age 12 & under.  Inside spectator seating will be limited.  Outside social distancing areas will also be available weather pending.  All pool patrons are required to have a face mask on unless they are actively swimming. Please consider bringing a ziplock bag to put your mask in while swimming. *Please bring your own water bottle

 

Bathrooms: Locker room bathrooms and lobby bathroom will be available.  An attendant (non-lifeguard) will regularly disinfect our bathrooms.  Changing areas and locker rooms will remain closed.  Diaper changing stations are available in our locker room bathrooms.

-Bathroom use: Use hand sanitizer prior when entering, wash hands, use facility, wash hands exit (leave doors fully open)

 

Personal Protective Equipment: All on-deck patrons and staff will be required to wear face masks, except actual in-water swimmers.  Please bring your own face mask.  Emergency face masks will be provided for patrons and staff upon request.

 

Pool equipment: Kickboards MAY be provided for some programs which have been properly disinfected for individual use.  An “Equipment USED Bin” will be available on deck for equipment that will need to be disinfected. Members are encouraged to bring their own equipment.

 

Shower use:  Five (5) Locker room showers will be available for use BEFORE swimming.  Please practice social distancing.  Showers are available for a short rinse only before your swim.  An attendant (non-lifeguard) will regularly disinfect our showers.

 

Swim ready:  Please arrive “swim-ready”.  Changing areas are closed at this time.  Consider bringing your own bag and store personal items on the pool deck in designated areas. 

 

Family use: Immediate family members should remain together on deck at all times and follow 6’ social distancing rules with other families/individuals.

 

Parents/Guardians: Check diapers before swimming, and change them in a bathroom or diaper-changing area—not poolside—to keep germs away from the pool. Steps for healthy swimming!

 

Groups/Rental:  No large groups or rentals without an approved COVID safe practices plan and rental agreement.  Social distancing rules apply for in-water swimmers as well.

 

Max pool capacity: Our max capacity will be 25 patrons (this includes swimmers, spectators, and employees) 

 

Departure / Exit:  Please use the appropriate exit. Pick-up of patrons should be immediately after the activity is completed.
